How to Ping Cell Phone

Although people often forget their wallets, sunglasses and other items, the mobile phone is something that is rarely out of hand. The ability to ping somebody's phone number can help you track down the person in an emergency situation. Ping can also help you get your own phone if it is lost or stolen.

Because of privacy laws on cell phone in place, the average civilian does not have the right to find the exact location of mobile phone of another person without the owner's permission. Even if you know how to ping a cell phone on your own, it is possible that you are breaking the law if you do, if you do not do the cause and the appropriate approval. On the other hand, the police, emergency personnel and other authorized persons may be able to ping a cell phone legally, under the right circumstances.

There are several steps you can take if you ping your own phone or authorize another person to do so.
  1. Determine the number of the phone you ping.
  2. Identifying the serial number of the particular device. It is usually under the battery or on the side of the phone battery.
  3. If your phone has a SIM card, get her number. This is typically stored directly on the SIM card.
  4. Determine the carrier that provides the cell phone. Without this information, you will not be able to contact the right people.
  5. Contact Support phone. The owner of the phone to the call.
  6. In this call, the account holder may be required to provide information about how the serial number and the identification number of the SIM card collected for disposal.
  7. Ask to set up your account so that you or a third party, such as a friend or spouse trust can test the phone at any time. Ultimately, it is much more accurate to use the GPS to locate a cell phone, if such a service is available. Ping can be used while around GPS with a few feet can come from the current location of the phone.
